The stage where your own staff test the configured system against real scenarios before agreeing it is ready.
User acceptance testing, or UAT, is the phase where the client's own staff run the configured ERP through realistic end-to-end scenarios, from quote to cash and purchase to pay, using their own data, and record what passes and what fails. It sits after configuration and before go-live, and the client signs it off.
It matters because UAT is where the business confirms the system does what was agreed, not what the implementer assumed. For a UAE company it is the right place to test the VAT return, tax invoice layout, e-invoice generation, WPS payroll file and the specific workflows that make the business different. Problems found here are cheap; problems found after go-live are not.
In an ERP project, write test scripts from real transactions and give users protected time to run them. Track every defect to closure and agree what counts as a blocker versus a nice-to-have. Do not let UAT become training; users should already know the basics. Sign-off at this gate is what releases the next payment and the go-live decision.
