E-invoicing

The UAE mandate to issue and receive invoices as structured electronic documents exchanged through accredited providers.

E-invoicing in the UAE means issuing and receiving invoices as structured data files, not PDFs, exchanged through the Peppol network via an Accredited Service Provider and reported to the Federal Tax Authority. Phase 1 starts on 1 January 2027 for businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more, and Phase 2 on 1 July 2027.

It matters because the deadline is fixed and the penalty is AED 5,000 per month of delay under Cabinet Decision 106 of 2025. Businesses in scope for Phase 1 must appoint an ASP by 30 October 2026. Beyond compliance, it forces invoice data to be complete and correct at source, which exposes weak master data and manual invoicing habits.

In an ERP project, confirm the platform can produce PINT AE documents, connect to an ASP, and handle rejections and credit notes. Start with a data audit of customers, TRNs and tax codes. The technical connection is the smaller part of the work.
