PINT AE

The UAE-specific Peppol invoice format that every e-invoice must follow to be accepted on the network.

PINT AE is the UAE specialisation of the Peppol International Invoice (PINT) format. It defines the structure, mandatory fields, code lists and validation rules an electronic invoice must meet to be accepted by an Accredited Service Provider and reported to the Federal Tax Authority. It is built on the UBL standard.

It matters because an invoice that fails PINT AE validation is rejected, not delivered. The format requires data many UAE businesses do not hold consistently today: buyer and seller TRNs, correct tax category codes per line, document type codes, payment terms and references. A PDF that looks fine can fail as structured data.

In an ERP project, map your invoice fields to PINT AE early and find the gaps. Common ones are free-text product lines without tax codes, missing customer TRNs and inconsistent units of measure. Fix the master data and invoice templates in the system, then validate sample documents with your ASP during UAT rather than discovering rejections after 1 January 2027.
