Fabricators quote on estimated cost and only learn the real figure after delivery. Kaido implements systems that cost every job from bill of materials to finished goods, so pricing is based on what production actually consumed.
Routings and material lists sit with the production manager, so purchasing orders late, costing is approximate and a resignation takes the know-how with it.
Material, labour, machine time and scrap are averaged across the month, so no one knows which job made money and which quoted price was wrong.
Made-to-order jobs mix standard items with drawings and site measurements, and the order, drawing, production and invoice are tracked in separate tools.
Waste is not recorded against a job or machine, so yield cannot be improved and quotes keep repeating the same hidden loss.
Every product, including custom work, has a bill of materials and a routing in the system. A sales order for a standard item creates the production order and the purchase requirements automatically. A made-to-order job gets its own BOM derived from the drawing and measurements, and the quote is built from that BOM, not from a rule of thumb.
On the shop floor, operators start and stop work orders on a tablet. Material is consumed by the job, labour and machine time are recorded against it and scrap is logged with a reason. When the job closes, its actual cost is compared with the quoted cost and the variance is visible the same day.
Purchasing sees shortages by date, not a wish list. Subcontracted processes such as powder coating or polishing are tracked as operations with their own cost. Finished goods move to stock or straight to delivery with the installation team's schedule, and the invoice follows the delivery note.
VAT at 5% applies to most manufactured goods sold in the mainland, with zero rating on exports and designated zone rules for free zone plants. Raw material imports carry reverse charge VAT and customs duty, which the system should record on the receipt and recover on the return.
Corporate tax at 9% on profit above AED 375,000 means work in progress, finished goods valuation and scrap write-offs need a consistent costing method with an audit trail from BOM to ledger.
E-invoicing starts 1 January 2027 for businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more and 1 July 2027 for others. Sales invoices, including progress invoices on long jobs, must be issued in PINT AE format via an Accredited Service Provider over the Peppol five-corner model. Larger manufacturers needed an ASP appointed by 30 October 2026, and delay carries AED 5,000 per month in penalties.
Kaido fixes the price before configuration begins. Discovery maps your product families, routings, costing method and how jobs flow from quote to delivery, and ends in a signed scope.
Delivery runs in phases: design, configuration, BOM and item migration, shop floor pilot on a few live jobs, go-live and hypercare. Each phase has a gate you approve.
BOM cleanup is usually the longest step, so it starts early and runs alongside configuration. After go-live, a support contract keeps the same consultants on the account for costing reviews and the next phase.
Yes. Custom work uses a BOM created per job, often from a configurable template with the dimensions and finishes as parameters. The quote, material plan and production order all come from that job BOM. Standard components such as hardware and profiles stay as stock items, so purchasing and costing behave the same way as for repeat products.
Material is costed at the value consumed from stock, labour at the operator's hourly rate times recorded time, and machine cost at a work centre rate. Subcontracted operations add their invoice value. Scrap is charged to the job. The result is compared with the quoted cost, and variances are reported by job, product and work centre.
Shop floor screens are kept to a few large buttons: start, pause, finish, log scrap, scan material. Labels can be set in Arabic, Hindi, Urdu or other languages on the main platforms, and barcode scanning removes most typing. Supervisors keep the detailed screens. Training for operators is usually a single session.
Yes. The delivery and installation are scheduled as a field service job linked to the production order. Installers confirm completion and snag items on mobile, and the invoice or final progress certificate is released from that confirmation. Site measurement visits before production are handled the same way, so the job has one record from survey to handover.
